Mornings in Malta

Our team is headed to Malta in 8 days.  In just 8 days we will be spending a week with those who serve to make known the name of Christ all over Europe.  Specifically we will be providing ministry to those 5th grade and under - about 60 of them in all! Our plan is to conduct Vacation Bible School each morning.

We are using Lifeway's  Amazing Wonders Aviation VBS curriculum . We have crafts, Bible Stories, songs, games, snacks and lots of fun planned for these kiddos.  Did you know that most often they worship with adults and not in English (their first language).  Most of the time the churches where they live and serve are very different from what was "normal" for them in their home churches.

We are excited about providing this experience for those referred to as MK's (missionary kids) or Third Culture Kids.  Matt and Rachel Setliffe - whose children will soon be third culture kids explains it this way, "America is not fully their home, and the country this parents serve in is not fully home. They are a mixture of the two cultures, creating a third culture."  He posted an article today that shares the heart of a  missionary and her thoughts on Third Culture Kids.  I encourage you to read her thoughts HERE!  I couldn't read it without tears.  It is convicting and challenging - especially in light of the things I grumble over in just one single day.  I just sometimes don't have a clue.  Families called to serve internationally give up much to make His name known to the nations.  Will you take a moment to pray for these kiddos?

Will you pray our team can be an encouragement to them in our words, actions, in every moment we have with them and in every small gift we give them.  The small gifts we are taking them are small but hopefully will show them we love them and are thankful for what they do - all day, every day not to mention many, many miles away from family and all things they once knew as familiar.

We still are collecting our small gifts- if you want to help- just let me know.  We are not talking about big things but small things like candy, small toys, crafts, etc.

For every way you decide to be on mission with us - thank you.  It takes people praying, people giving (bake sale items, donations for bake sale purchases, suitcases, gifts), people going, people writing notes and many other ways so many are helping FBC being a church ON MISSION!

Much Love!
Mrs. Tara
